Goldflight Archery started in September 2004 by Dennis Carr. Goldflight Archery was a sideline business until Christmas 2004, when sales rocketed through a well known online auction site. The high quality traditional arrows became immensely popular worldwide, and we now have many customers in the USA and several European countries.
In June 2005, the business began developing leather products for the Archery market. These products, just like the arrows, were handcrafted by Dennis himself and were always of the highest quality.
November 2005 marked the decision to focus solely on Goldflight Archery.
This website launched on 30th November 2005. Since then, the website has continuously developed, including a trial US version of the site with the second version of the site. The third version of the site brought all visitors back to visiting one site, launching in January 2007.
In May 2007, Goldflight Archery entered into an affiliation agreement with Amazon.co.uk. As well as offering the customer high quality Archery leatherwork and arrows, we wanted to become an "Archery One Stop Shop". Therefore, new areas of the website were designed to accommodate products offered by Amazon, but available at a glance on our site to assist visitors meet their Archery needs. It was also in May 2007 that Goldflight Archery set up a site through Spreadshirt.co.uk. This sub-site was to be the home of a new range, the ideal place to start looking for Archery novelty gifts.
In June 2007, Goldflight Archery began to offer a new range of leather goods to be sold alongside the specialised products that were already on offer. The new range was called the "Standard Range", with the original products becoming the "Speciality Range". This led to new opportunities including giving customers the option to buy many products straight away without having to wait for them to be produced.
The combination of the events in May and June 2007 led to the fourth incarnation of the Goldflight Archery website, with many new ranges, including "Archery for Kids", "Standard Range", "Novelty Items", with further sections for Archery and Robin Hood related books and DVDs, we believe we are on the way to becoming the "Archery One Stop Shop".
Despite all the new developments at Goldflight Archery, we continue to pride ourselves on giving you, the customer, high quality, tailored, long lasting products, supported by a great after sales service so that you keep coming back to us, and you recommend us to your family and friends!
We always value your feedback, good or bad, and are always welcome to suggestions. Without the customer, this website would not be here today, offering you the products that have earned Goldflight Archery an outstanding reputation. A Word from Dennis
The Man behind Goldflight Archery
I had an keen interest in firearms since the age of 10, have been a member of various gun clubs since the age of 14 and spent the first seven years of my working life working in a gunshop. Apart from owning a bow as a child, I had very little interest in archery until 1988 when I took part in a "have a go" session on holiday and joined a local club as soon as I returned.
After been coached at club level in target recurve, I was fortunate enough to meet Olympic coach Tony Drabble whose one to one coaching soon had me winning medals.
My archery interest took a sudden turn when I threw my sights away and turned to field shooting with hunter recurve and English Longbow using the "instinctive" method. Remembering skills learned at school in leather and woodwork. I soon started making my own arrows, quivers and bracers.
After many requests for items by club members I decided that my hobby should turn into a business venture and in 2004 Goldflight Archery was born.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. Please take your time and have a good look around.
